Yummy!
Here’s the ridiculously overdue post of the mini tea meetup I had with Dan and another friend.
For those wondering how my turkey day was, we had this delicious chinese roast turkey and amazing appetizers, and I was really stuffed. I don’t want to make a full post about it since it would take too long to write up, and I need to finish my HW right now… I didn’t take any pictures either.
We met up at Tyme for Tea in Fremont, since they live all the way up around the Oakland/Alameda area, so we made a decision to go for tea at the halfway point between our cities, after I’ve been nagging them about a weird craving for cucumber sandwiches! It’s the first time I’ve gone to a tea room, and it was really fun! I got to wear classical lolita.
I arrived 20 minutes before them, since they were stuck in traffic. The atmosphere was very cute and rustic. The shop itself was run by a group of old ladies. They were so nice and made a lot of compliments about my dress. xD The tea room itself is in this really secluded area of Fremont full of antique shops and other cute shops. It’s sorta weird since I’m more used to the Asian area of Fremont. Finally, when Lynda and Dan came, we had a look at this massive tub full of hats!
omg!
We had a lot of fun with the hats, just playing around with them. I’ll post some of the pictures I took of us wearing the hats at the end of this post. Anyways, me and Lynda ordered Victorian high tea, while I think Dan ordered the desserts platter. We each got a pot of tea with unlimited refills with our orders. Dan ordered this interesting black tea with some type of fruit(need to go and ask him for specifics), I ordered apple blossom green tea, and Lynda ordered this interesting Belgian Chocolate thingy tea (again, need to ask her for specifics). The teas were really good. Lynda’s was very unique. It ended up being popular with her and Dan, though it was a bit too sweet for me.
Here’s a fast rundown of what we ate! We spent the rest of the hour just talking about the food and gossiping/chatting about life, so I don’t have much else to say.
First things first, the Victorian High tea. It was split into 3 courses of yumminess!
First course: Blueberry Scones with rasberry preserves, lemon curd, and crème fraiche. The scones were served to us warm.
I loved the lemon curd. They were really good! First time I truly liked scones.

Second course were the sandwiches: Cucumber dill, Chicken walnut, mushroom turnover, spinach filo, and last and not least, jalapeno cheese on a baguette. I’m getting hungry just talking about this course haha. The chicken walnut was really creamy and heavy, and I had a hard time eating it. >_< I was very happy to eat my cucumber sandwich, but these sandwiches filled me so much more than I thought they would! Tricky tricky…
The sandwiches!

Yay! I got my cucumber sandwich!
Finally, we had a dessert platter, consisting of ginger snaps, chocolate cheesecake, and these cute little petit fours.I was so full already. D:
Dessert!

The inside of the elusive pinafore…
As for Dan’s dessert plate, he had a selection of fruits, a petit four, chocolate truffles, the chocolate cheesecake, a madeleine, and this cute little Red Velvet cupcake with cream cheese frosting.
Lots of sweets! He spent part of the time taking pictures of the food and of himself eating it and texting the pictures to his friends in order to make them jealous. Haha.
So much sugar!
We were all very very very stuffed after the meal. Dan had enough leftovers to put in a box, on which he quickly drew on the cute little companion cube from portal on it in order to deter his roomate from touching it.
You gotta love your sweets.
We then paid and had a short walk around the area. Then, it was 5PM, so I quickly rushed home. However, seeing that I don’t have much experience driving, I almost got lost going to the freeway, though I used rational reasoning (Gasp! yes.. I can actually do that) to find it… Though I did go on 880 in the wrong direction at first… Then, I was stuck in ridiculous rush hour traffic, and for some weird reason google maps told me to go on highway 9, which is really windy and in the middle of the hills of Saratoga, in order to get back home. Seeing that it was pitch black, I spent that ride convinced that I was lost, not to mention that I had to pick up my brother to go to Tae Kwon Do.. At least I got home just in the nick of time, only to find out that he was still changing into his clothes, so we ended up being late for his class. Oh well.
The rest of the pictures from the tea party. For those wondering what I did with all those extra calories from this not so good for you meal, be glad to hear that I ended up working out(yes I was breathing hard and ended up being very sore) in some fashion for the rest of the week, except for Wednesday and Saturday.
Lynda and I both wore lolita that day. Coord post time!

Anyways, back to reading research stuff for english and history + AP music theory HW, as well as preparing for the musical auditions tomorrow! School’s starting tomorrow and I’d rather be relaxing during free period than working. I finally got some ideas for my new blog layout. It’s going to be a grungish, warm colored, photo collage type of thing. It’s hard to explain, but I can see it in my mind’s eye. Hope you guys look forward to it.
